CORE
Creating Opportunities for Real Education
CORE is a programme available to 16–18 year olds at our Channelside campus. In our dedicated CORE unit you’ll find a small, nurturing environment that helps you build confidence, develop new skills and prepare for your next steps, whether that’s progressing to a wider college course or moving into employment.
CORE programmes offer a variety of subjects and experiences designed to make learning engaging and relevant. Our CORE Pathway Coaches support you every step of the way, helping you discover your strengths through practical tasks, the use of technology, and activities that suit different learning styles.
There are no formal entry requirements for CORE, just a willingness to learn and evidence of prior achievements or assessments that show your ability to work towards a Level 1 or Level 2 qualification. You’ll complete an initial assessment with us to make sure you’re placed on the right course level for English and maths.
With a focus on personal growth, teamwork, and real progress, CORE provides a supportive space to re-engage with learning, gain valuable experience, and take confident steps towards your future.
Courses we offer at CORE:
L1 Exploring Employability Skills, with Health and Social Care or Projects Pathway
L2 Developing Employability Skills
