Gifts and Hospitality
Intent
The acceptance of gifts or hospitality, even of a modest nature, can cause possible suspicion and loss of confidence in the integrity of an employee. It is contrary to the standards of conduct expected from employees within the public service to solicit any gift or consideration as an inducement or reward, or, as employees of the College, to accept any fee or reward other than salary. The Corporation has adopted within its financial regulations a code of conduct for staff whereby staff at all levels are expected to act in the best interests of the College, undertaken in accordance with the principles of public life: selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and leadership.
