Level 1 Foundation Learning Pathways

COURSE OVERVIEW

Foundation Learning Pathways are designed to help develop your personal, social skills and academic skills in a supportive environment.  It will help you develop some of the essential skills required to enable personal development in preparation for life, further learning and employment. With a focus on your English and maths skills alongside your choice of subject pathway, the aim is to help you progress to a GCSE/Level 2 programme, an Apprenticeship or a full-time job.

The courses offer a dedicated tutor to support you and include regular one-to-one progress reviews alongside vocational specialists in your chosen pathway.

The course is split into a number of pathway options. When you apply, please indicate which pathway choice you are most interested in studying.

COURSE CONTENT

Your course will include:

• Tutorials with weekly sessions and group discussions
• Skills for progression – Developing skills including working as a team, resilience, communication and personal confidence & self-awareness.
• Maths & English – Functional Skills or GCSEs at the right level for you
• Subject pathway option – You will have the opportunity to opt for a vocational option in Business, IT, Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy, Engineering & Motor Vehicle or Sport
