Partnerships
We value the importance of partnerships in bringing together people from different organisations, agencies and sectors. They provide the opportunity to view and understand issues from different perspectives as well as bringing a range of particular skills, resources, connections and understanding.
Business Partnerships
We provide opportunities for networking, meetings and access to labour market information as well as providing individual support through our Business Team.
Education Partnerships
We work closely with local schools and sixth forms helping to raise aspirations and make young people aware of the skills requirements of the future.
University Partnerships
The College works with a number of partner universities who validate their degrees including the University of Cumbria, The University of Central Lancashire and Lancaster University.
Business Advisory Board – Bringing business and education together
The College has established the board to provide a formal engagement platform with industry, offer strategic advice and support and identify upcoming career opportunities for students. It includes representatives who hold senior positions in businesses, as well as local government and public sector organisations.
The Education Employment and Skills Group
Furness College is part of The Education Employment and Skills Group, which is a strand of the Furness Economic Development Forum. Members of this forum are a range of key partners from Furness businesses and community organisations. The delivery of the Education, Employment and Skills delivery plan for the Furness area is part of the group’s remit.
