Our Strategy

Our Vision

To be the provider of choice for education, skills and training

Our Strategic Aims

Learning
To be recognised by our stakeholders as a provider of high quality education and training, who change lives and transform futures.

Objectives:

  • Innovative teaching, learning and support that stretches, challenges and inspires students to achieve their aspirations and goals
  • Students achieve their chosen next steps of study or employment, through flexible progression routes in a curriculum that anticipates and responds to local, regional and national priority needs
  • Skills for employment underpin all curriculum design, development and delivery
  • Listening to students, so that their views have a big influence on decision making within the College
  • Adopting and engaging, collaborating and creating blended approaches to learning

Partnerships
To play a leading role locally and regionally with a reputation as a strong, responsive and reliable partner.

Objectives:

  • Be recognised for the provision of high quality, employment focused education and skills training
  • Be a first choice with employers for education and training provision
  • Engage with, inform and influence the skills agenda locally, regionally and nationally through partnerships and relationships with relevant stakeholders
  • Build partnerships that bring opportunities and investment
  • Promote and celebrate the impact of our partnerships on the achievements of our students, staff and the College
  • Put our campuses at the heart of the local community that we serve

People
To be a place where people want to work, recognised for our inclusive and aspirational ethos.

Objectives:

  • Build strong values that are clearly understood and shared by staff, with a focus on high expectations and continuous improvement, supported by investment in relevant high quality training and development
  • Ensure our values reflect a College where we want staff and students to be happy, successful and able to thrive
  • A strong pipeline of staff talent and a plan in place for succession towards key roles, supporting talented people to develop and progress within the College
  • Communicate well with our workforce, as well as listening to and acting on their voice
  • Develop our proactive, strength based culture so that it supports our vision for self improvement
  • Achieve a culture that celebrates a diverse College community, providing opportunities for individual growth and development

Sustainability
To be financially successful through efficiency, cost-effectiveness and the delivery of sustained income.

Objectives:

  • Remain financially strong and stable
  • Targeted growth in our key markets and a strong adult and commercial offer
  • Provide excellent facilities and a great environment – both actual and virtual- for learning, teaching and assessment
  • Agile inward and outward facing processes in place to support employer, student and staff needs
  • Develop and implement a long-term green strategy to include a green skills curriculum and environmentally sustainable operations within the College
  • Benchmark widely, so that we know how well we are doing in comparison to others in our sector

Our Values

Our values are what make us, us. They are embedded in everything that we do, from the way we plan our lessons to the way we behave. We promote discussions around our Values so people can discuss what they mean to them and how they are demonstrated in their everyday lives.
