About our apprenticeship experience

Our programmes offer apprentices the opportunity to work across different industries and are designed for those who have, or are about to, finish School or College – and span areas such as Audit, Software Engineering, KPMG Law and Data & Analytics.

At KPMG, our apprentices gain valuable work experience, develop core skills and will be supported in their study towards fully funded professional qualifications and accreditations – all whilst earning a salary.

Our diverse employee networks, clubs and learning community help our apprentices to develop connections and build new friendships, not just for today, but for their career ahead. There are also plenty of opportunities for them to get involved in volunteering, so they’ll be encouraged to make a difference at work and outside of the office too.

Support

When apprentices join us, they’ll take part in a virtual induction week – an introduction to our firm, and a way for them to meet their peers and build valuable connections, from day one.

We’ll support them in their transition to the workplace too; providing them with a buddy, performance manager, access new joiner forums and range of learning opportunities which will allow them to shape their own development.
About KPMG

With a worldwide presence, KPMG continues to build on our successes thanks to a clear vision, our people and Our Values – we’re supporting businesses to grow, our people to achieve and our communities to thrive.

Our largest practice is Audit, which helps to build the confidence and trust that business and society needs. In Tax & Law, Consulting, Deal Advisory and Technology & Engineering, we help companies to solve some of their most complex business challenges.

Our places fill fast, so we’d encourage applications as soon as possible.

2022 Entry – Degree Finder

When it comes to entry requirements and course information, we would always recommend pointing students towards our Degree Finder.

This week our degree finder will be updated to reflect the change from the current focus on 2021 entry to a focus on 2022 entry. Therefore both entry requirements and course information will be updated for prospective students and teachers/advisers by the end of the week.

Upcoming Virtual Events

If your students are considering applying to Edinburgh, and have any questions, staff from Edinburgh will be delighted to speak to them at one of the virtual events coming up this month. These include:

  • Meet the Russell Group Virtual Fair, on Wednesday 29 September from 12pm – 8pm
  • UCAS Scotland Fair, on Thursday 30 September from 10am to 7pm

For further information on each fair and for information on how to book on to these events, please see our upcoming events calendar on our website.

Autumn Open Days

We are pleased to be able to announce dates for our Autumn Virtual Undergraduate Open Days: Saturday 2nd and Saturday 9th October.

On each day there will be a mix of live presentations and the opportunity to ask individual questions to staff and students on all aspects of applying, studying and living in Edinburgh. Following the event there will be a host of on-demand materials to support your students’ university research.

Open Days.

Visits to Campus

We are looking forward to introducing in-person campus visits as soon as we can, and we will keep you informed about the development of these.

If students do plan to visit the city of Edinburgh, our self-guided audio tours of both the George Square and King’s Buildings campuses are available. The tour does not need to be booked in advance, is easy to download to a mobile phone, and allows the tour to be taken at a time that works for our visitors.

If you are planning a school trip or group visit to our University, we would recommend getting in touch with us directly so we can inform you about what is available.

Virtual Open Days

We can’t wait to welcome students, parents and advisers to our upcoming Undergraduate Virtual Open Days, which are taking place on:

  • Saturday 9 October

Attendees will have the opportunity to attend live presentations and Q&As, speak to our staff and current students in live text chats and find out all they need to know about all aspects of studying at The University of Edinburgh.

Different subject areas will be represented on each date – the Open Days programme page contains descriptions, dates and times of activities running for each of our subject areas, admissions teams and services.

There is also an option in the Open Days booking form to register for access to all of the session recordings and on-demand resources.
