This introductory course will focus on the principles of the causes and spread of infection in health care settings. Learners will develop an understanding of the chain of infection and examine how infection is caused and the ways in which it can spread.

What are the entry requirements?
The course is suitable for anyone who already works in a health care setting and wants to develop their understanding of the many causes of, and the spread of infection. There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this course. However, you may find it helpful if you have already achieved a Level 1 or 2 qualification in a health or social care related area.
