HNC in Engineering for England

The Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Engineering for England will support you to develop as a professional, self-reflecting individual, able to meet the demands of employers in the rapidly evolving engineering sector and adapt to a constantly changing world. This qualification aims to widen access to higher education and enhance career prospects.

The HNC balances employability skills with academic attainment, building core knowledge, skills and techniques that all engineers require in order to be successful in a range of careers in engineering.

Entry Requirements

What are the entry requirements?

120 UCAS tariff points at A Level within an appropriate subject or BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in an appropriate Engineering subject, with at least a Merit in six modules including both further maths and an appropriate electrical science based module.

An alternative equivalent qualification in an appropriate subject at the appropriate level will be cpnsidered and may be discussed at interview. You would also nee 5 GCSEs grade A*-C, to include English and maths.

Progression

What opportunities will this lead to?

Progression to B.Eng Honours in Mechanical Engineering or B.Eng Honours in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and employment and career progression as a professional engineer across a variety of indusrial situations.
