The media is dynamic and ever-changing. What was cutting edge last year is this year’s Myspace. The creative industries are one of the UK’s fastest growing areas of the economy. If you are considering a career within one of these industries then this is the course for you.
Jobs in the media industries are very diverse and cover: advertising, web design, filmmaking and audio production. What they all have in common is they are skilled professions that require an understanding of the software and the techniques that industry needs. Students on this course learn how to use a range of creative software and then put it to use with practical projects that have real world applications. This will include producing work with local companies such as Signal Films and The Mail.
To study Media at this level you will need to have gained 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or better, or Merit or better in a relevant Level 2 vocational qualification.
