Get new skills. Get paid. Simple as that!!!
Getting paid while you learn might sound too good to be true- but as an apprentice you really do get the best of both worlds. And if you are already employed this option is still open to you so discuss it with your employer. Apprenticeships are an excellent way of gaining qualifications and workplace experience. As an employee, you can earn as you learn and you gain practical skills from the workplace.
At present the full Apprenticeship programme is open to all individuals aged between 16-24, with the opportunity for adults, over the age of 25, to undertake apprenticeships in some areas. They usually take anything from one to three years to complete. An Apprenticeship means you learn on the job, build up knowledge and skills, gain qualifications and earn money – all at the same time. Apprenticeships can also progress to a university degree. Many of our students complete HNCs and Foundation Degrees at Furness College, part-time, whilst still continuing to work.
