Our facilities and garage are equipped with everything that a main dealership might have, with a wide range of different vehicles and technologies to work on. You will have real life experiences and daily challenges to expand your learning and development and prepare you for work.

Course Content

What Modules will you Study?

Units studied may include:



  • health and safety and good housekeeping in the automotive environment,

  • skills in supporting job roles in the automotive work environment,

  • skills in materials, fabrication and tools and measuring devices used in the automotive environment,

  • routine light vehicle maintenance, removing and replacing light vehicle engine components,

  • removing and replacing light vehicle chassis components,

  • removing and replacing driveline units and components,

  • removing and replacing light vehicle electrical components.




Every full-time course will include a real experience of work.

English and maths form part of this course and will be assessed at the relevant levels.

Full-time over one year.

Entry Requirements

What are the entry requirements?

You will need a minimum of four GCSEs grade 3 or above, preferably including English and Maths. You will have an aptitude to work with motor vehicles and be practically minded to solve mechanical problems.
Learners are expected to seek relevant work experience of at least 30 hours over the year.
Learners without GCSE English or Maths at grade 4 will continue to study these alongside Motor Vehicle.

What opportunities will this lead to?

An Advanced Apprenticeship or employment in a garage setting.
