This introductory course will focus on understanding the fundamentals of what dementia is, the key functions of the brain that are affected by dementia and other conditions that may be mistaken for dementia.
This course typically takes 12 weeks to complete.
This course is distance learning, with the option of drop in support sessions at Channelside.
This course is fully funded for learners aged 19+ by The Adult Skills Fund.

Entry Requirements
What are the entry requirements?
The course is suitable for anyone who already works in a health care setting and wants to develop the knowledge required to understand the impact and key issues surrounding dementia. There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this course. However, you may find it helpful if you have already achieved a Level 1 or 2 qualification in a health or social care related area.
