This introductory course will focus on exploring the varying functions of glucose and insulin in the blood, the different forms and causes of diabetes as well as the risk factors associated with each type.
This course typically takes 12 weeks to complete.
This course is distance learning, with the option of drop in support sessions at Channelside.
This course is fully funded for learners aged 19+ by The Adult Skills Fund.

Entry Requirements
What are the entry requirements?
The course is suitable for anyone who has an interest, or already works in a health care setting and wants to improve and develop their knowledge and understanding. There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this course.
However, you may find it helpful if you have already achieved a Level 1 or 2 qualification in a health or social care related area.

This is an introductory course in the Health and Social Care field. You may choose to continue to study another of our distance learning courses to broaden your knowledge in this area.
