Health and Social Care is an ideal choice if you are thinking of a career in the NHS, teaching or in the social care field. The course gives you a sound understanding of relevant topics that can be applied to all careers in this industry. You will study equality and diversity and the legislation that supports equal opportunities for all. You will gain a deeper awareness of the importance of communication and how things like body language and expression can impact on us all. You will work with others to demonstrate your communication skills and apply these in the real world on work experience in a health and social care setting. Students typically progress to apprenticeships, University or to our Children and Young People foundation degree at Furness College's Channelside campus.

This course will be studied alongside A Levels, Cambridge Technicals and BTECs as part of a mixed programme.

Entry Requirements
What are the entry requirements?
To study this level 3 vocational course you will need a minimum of five GCSEs grade 4 or above, which should include English and maths.
If you have grade 3 in English or maths you will study this alongside your other subjects. We are unable to offer both GCSE English and maths as part of the same programme. Please contact us for advice if you need to re-sit both English Language and maths.
Our Sixth Form vocational courses may be studied as a mixed programme of three vocational subjects or a blended programme with one or two A Level subjects. Please check individual course pages for entry requirements.
