New T Level makes six

Furness College is expanding its T Level offer to six with a new business-focused qualification due to launch in September.

Applications are now open for the T Level in Management & Administration at the Channelside campus.

As part of this two-year qualification for 16-19 year olds, students complete a 45-day industry placement to prepare them for employment.

The T Level in Management & Administration has been designed in collaboration with businesses and can lead straight into skilled employment or give students the chance to progress to university or higher apprenticeships or to the HNC Business programme at Furness College.

Students will learn how businesses work, the importance of key stakeholders, financial aspects of industry, project and change management and how to lead teams.

The college launched its T Level in Engineering & Manufacturing – a technical equivalent to three A levels – at the Channelside campus in September 2022.

Its full range of T Levels is now:

• Digital Production, Design and Development
• Health
• Education & Childcare
• Healthcare Science
• Engineering & Manufacturing
• Management & Administration

T Level students also undertake an employer-set project to develop skills, knowledge and understanding of key principles.
