New app will improve students’ college experience

Students at Furness College will start the new term with access to everything they need to succeed at the touch of a button.

The college, which has two main campuses at Channelside and Rating Lane, has launched a new app called MyFurness.

The app will give students access to their timetable, email, print credit, support services and access to the virtual learning environment.

It also includes news and events on campus, students’ union information and a click through to the college’s Instagram account.

Furness College’s Assistant Principal for Planning, Performance and Quality Zee Walker said the easy-to-use platform would give students a head start.

“The MyFurness app brings all the information together and will help our students to make the most out of their college experience – both in their learning and all the other activities around our campuses.

“It brings academic and college resources into one place and our students can access the app whether they are on or off campus.”

The college offers the biggest range of courses in Cumbria, from A Levels and T Levels to BTECs and CTECs, university-level programmes, apprenticeships and adult learning courses and the app will be for all learners.

Students will be able to download the app at enrolment next month. Applications for September 2021 are still open, visit www.furness.ac.uk for the full choice of courses.
