French A Level students from Barrow Sixth Form College have been perfecting their parlance during a visit to the fourth largest city in France.
Jayden Milby, Thomas Renton and Zack Pearson, who are studying A Levels at the Rating Lane campus, all enjoyed the visit to Toulouse, which is known for its art, history and culture.
The five-day trip to ‘La Ville Rose’ was led by teacher Denise Brown. The group flew out from Bristol and stayed on a farm.
“We learned the workings of the farm in French from our host Michel. He has canards (ducks) and grows ble ( wheat),” said Denise. “We visited the Chateau de Lavardens and learned about its history and did a vineyard tour.
“We spent a day in a French lycee ( sixth form) doing maths P.E and French lessons, eating lunch with the students. All in all it was a great trip and the students said it was a fantastic opportunity to listen to and speak French.”
The students, who shopped and cooked for themselves, also enjoyed a trip to the indoor kart track.
