What Modules will you Study?
The apprenticeship will cover a wide range of knowledge, skills and behaviours which will assist the student in their day to day work duties. These could include:
Skills –
Analyse and explain how children’s learning and development can be affected by their stage of development and individual circumstances
Promote equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice
Support and promote children’s speech, language and communication development
Support children’s group learning and socialisation.
Identify the needs, interests and stages of development of individual children.
Knowledge –
The expected patterns of children’s development from birth to 5 years, and have an understanding of further development from age 5 to 7.
The significance of attachment and how to promote it effectively.
The correct early education curriculum requirements such as the Early Years Foundation Stage
The legal requirements and guidance on health and safety, security, confidentiality of information, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

The off the job training attendance for this apprenticeship is one evening per week, at Channelside campus.
What is off-the-job training?
Off-the-job training is learning which is undertaken outside of the normal day-to-day working environment and leads towards the achievement of the apprenticeship. The 20% off-the-job training requirement is measured over the course of an apprenticeship, not per academic year. This is an essential part of the apprenticeship and therefore must take place during employed time and the apprentice must be paid for the off-the-job training.

How much will this course cost?
There are no course fees for apprentices.
Apprentices will receive a wage from their employer.
Entry Requirements
What are the entry requirements?
Apprentices without English or Maths at Level 2 must achieve this prior to taking the end point assessment.
Progression
What opportunities will this lead to?
On achievement of this Standard you may progress to the L3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Standard or secure employment in an early years setting.
