The Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning provides learners with knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children and young people in a school environment. The full-time programme includes an industry placement and covers a broad range of relevant topics.
Course Content
What Modules will you Study?
Units studied may include:
Child and young person development
Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people
Communication and professional relationships with children and young people
Equality, diversity and inclusion in working with children and young people
The course includes one day per week on work placement.
You will also continue to study GCSE English and maths if required.

Full-time over one year.

Entry Requirements
What are the entry requirements?
You will need a minimum of four GCSEs at grade 3 or above.
All applicants are required to have a Children’s Enhanced Workforce DBS. This will be applied for through College. The cost for a DBS is £56.
Progression
What opportunities will this lead to?
Students may be able to progress to a L3 Teaching Assistant Standard Apprenticeship, or gain employment in a school setting.
With achievement of L2 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools and GCSE English and maths grade 4 or above, students may progress to T Level Education and Early Years - Assisting Teaching pathway.
