Connect2

Connect2 is a supportive, full-time programme designed to help you build confidence, develop new skills and prepare for your next step into further education or employment.

You will choose from one of three pathways:
• Creative
• Industry
• Health and Social Care

Your chosen pathway will give you the opportunity to explore an area that interests you and develop relevant knowledge and practical skills. You will also study English and maths as part of your programme.

With small class sizes and a supportive learning environment, Connect2 can provide a gentle next step into college for learners who may have been out of education or would benefit from additional support as they adjust to college life.

Course Content

What Modules will you Study?

You will choose one pathway and take part in activities designed to introduce you to the skills and knowledge associated with that area.

Alongside your chosen pathway, you will develop wider skills to help you become more confident and prepare for your future. Your programme will include:
• Practical learning within your chosen pathway
• English and maths
• Personal development
• Communication and teamwork
• Confidence and independence
• Employability skills
• Preparing for further study
• Exploring future education and employment opportunities

Personal development sessions will give you dedicated time to develop the skills you need for your next steps and think about what you would like to achieve in the future.

Entry Requirements

What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal academic entry requirements for Connect2. We are looking for learners who:
• Have an interest in their chosen pathway
• Are willing to take part in learning and develop new skills
• Are committed to attending college
• Are ready to work towards their next steps in education or employment

We will work with you to make sure Connect2 and your chosen pathway are right for you.

Progression

What opportunities will this lead to?

Connect2 is designed to help you identify and prepare for your next step. Depending on your interests, progress and goals, this could include moving on to another college course, further training or exploring opportunities for employment. Throughout the programme, you will receive support to consider your options and make informed choices about what comes next.
