This course will prepare students and potentially enable progression to the HNC Engineering programme.

To achieve this, the student must achieve Merit Standard or above in Maths and the Sciences.

The course is assessed by 2 open book timed assignments.

Sine waves (adding waveforms and vector addition),

Resolution of forces
Simply supported beams
Basic stress & strain
Fluids (continuity equation)
Gas laws
Energy and linear motion

Electrical Principles
Ohm's law
Kirchoff's law
Series & parallel resistors
Power calculations

How long is the course?

34 weeks, commencing mid-September. The current timetable is Tuesday 17:00 – 19:30 (This is subject to yearly review, please use this as a guide).

Entry Requirements

What are the entry requirements?

A suitable Level 3 Engineering qualification and an interview with the Course Tutor. After we’ve received your application, you will then be invited to attend an interview any time from April onwards.

The course has been established to allow students to potentially gain entry to the HNC Engineering programme.
