How will I learn?
You will be taught in a classroom environment using a variety of resources. You will work in small groups or individually on pre-set tasks. There will be the opportunity for independent learning throughout the course.
What subjects will I study?
You will study the following:
Fractions, Decimals and Percentage
Ratio, proportions, formulas and equations
Measures – time, length, weight, temperature
Shape and Space – area and perimeter
Data Handling – charts, graphs, tables, diagrams, mean, median, mode and range
How will I be assessed?
Functional Skills in Mathematics is assessed by a single computer-based or paper based test.
Are there any additional costs?
There are no extra costs for this course apart from general stationery needed for study.
What are the entry requirements?
There are no entry requirements and classes are free.
