College backs NHS Apprentice Awards

Furness College is delighted to sponsor the NHS Health and Care Apprenticeship Awards 2022 to recognise and reward the amazing work apprentices are doing across the healthcare sector.

As the county’s leading provider of apprenticeships, the college supports training of NHS staff and future healthcare workers from apprenticeships, CTECs and a T Level in Health right through to university-backed foundation degree in health and social care.

Sue Hannan, Assistant Principal for Curriculum at Furness College, said the awards are for apprentices working in the NHS and those working in the health and social care sector.

“We have a strong track record in preparing people for healthcare careers across both the Channelside and Rating Lane campuses and this includes working with employers to deliver top quality apprenticeships.

“We are all aware of the hard work  that has been done and dedication of staff across the NHS particularly over the past couple of years and we are delighted to help recognise the role apprentices have played as key workers and their commitment to their caring roles.”

The college is sponsoring the non-clinical apprentice of the year category in the first ever Lancashire and South Cumbria regional awards. The category is open to any apprentice that is engaged in a non-clinical apprenticeship who is doing well and is proving to be a future investment. This apprentice will demonstrate all the assets essential in order to thrive within that department.
