This Level 2 qualification takes a year to complete. At the end of the course, you will achieve an Extended Certificate qualification, which is equivalent to two GCSEs.
All the assessment for the course is done through coursework, so there are no exams. You have to achieve at least a pass on every unit of the course to achieve the overall qualification. During the course, you will cover a range of topics including communication, individual rights and needs, health and safety and vocational experience. The course includes relevant work placement as part of the study programme, in order to give you the opportunity to gain work experience and an opportunity to collect information to help for coursework.
What are the entry requirements?
There are no set entry requirements for this course, although skills such as communication, IT, organisation and time-management will be helpful.
What opportunities will this lead to?
Success on this course will enable you to enter employment or training within a wide range of health and social care environments, for example, you could be accepted as a trainee for a post as a care assistant or early-years worker. You can also use this qualification to progress further with your education on to a Level 3 course.
