Preparing learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with and care for children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years.
Course Content
What Modules will you Study?
You will study 14 mandatory units that will prepare you for employment with children form birth to five years. Units include:
Safeguarding, protection and welfare
Health and safety
Equality, diversity and incusive practice
Support care routines
Support babies and young children to be physically active
You will be assessed through observation in the nursery and written tasks completed in College.
Attendance is 1 day or 1 evening per week.
This course is 12 months in duration.
We accept enrolments throughout the year for this course.

Entry Requirements
What are the entry requirements?
A passion for working with young children in a nursery setting and a good level of English and maths.
If you do not currently hold a GCSE A*-C, 9-4/ Level 2 English and maths qualifications we advise to study these alongside this Diploma.
You will need employment or a voluntary placement in a nursery setting for one day per week and an enhanced DBS check.
The DBS check will be applied for before starting the course, at a cost of £38.
Progression
What opportunities will this lead to?
Licence to practice as an Early Years Educator in nurseries and reception class.
Progression to Foundation Degree in Children, Young People and their Services.
