Contextual Admissions Launch

We are looking to launch our contextual admissions guidance in the New Year and will be arranging a workshop. Please let us know if you would like to book a place by emailing eliaison@uclan.ac.uk

Pathways to Medicine

We are delighted to welcome applications for the Pathways to Medicine programme which is looking to attract students from under-represented groups. This will be the third year of the programme which has supported many students in developing a realistic view of the expectations of studying medicine at University and the career pathways open to them.

To find out more details about eligibility and how to apply follow this link Pathways to Medicine.

Unmissable Higher Education events

The team have been busy creating events for students to make informed choices about their 2021 progression. All your students need to do is visit our website where they can book any events that are right for them. This events below give you an idea of the activities we are offering:

Personal Statement Live Chats – Every Thursday 17.00-19.00 until 17 December – Due to the popularity of our personal statement chats we have extended the run of the series into December, to support students who want to submit their application before the 15 January UCAS deadline. To make it easier, your students can book onto any of the activities here.

Student Reflections – Sometimes you just want to hear from students who are studying in the subject you want to apply for. Over December students can join live chats with our students to get a glimpse of their experience of their course and life at UCLan.

We can also adapt our sessions to run virtually in your classrooms, so take a look and let us know if you would like us to deliver them direct to your students.

Parents Live Chats – We know that parents and carers usually have lots of questions about their child coming to university; how do you apply for September 2021; funding; support and accommodation. They can join us in December and January for our live chats where we share our essential guide and tips on supporting their child during their application journey.

Higher Education insight and inspiration

  • Post Qualification Admission Reforms – We recently have seen both Office for Students and UK Universities release papers on PQA. We found a really interesting article from WONKHE on the turning opinions of PQA and an article from Higher Education Policy Institute
  • Virtual Work Experience – We enjoyed this guide to supporting parents and students with virtual work experience opportunities.
