Furness College progress in ECFA Women’s National Knockout Cup
Furness College Women’s progressed to the next round of the ECFA Women’s National Knockout Cup after a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Preston North End Community.
After falling behind to an early goal from PNE, Jade Fleming slotted the ball home from the edge of the area after a neat one-two with Leah Clough.
Clough then put Furness College in front, finishing off a great flowing move which started from the goalkeeper and involved Furness keeping possession with a number or passes in the build-up.
PNE worked hard to get back in to the game in the second half pinning Furness College back, but Becky Green performed well in goal, making a number of good saves.
With 10 minutes to go, Fleming scored a fantastic solo goal after beating three PNE players, before nicking the ball past the PNE keeper to give Furness the win and progress to the next round of the cup.
The team performed extremely well and fully deserved their win.
Good luck in the next round!
