Taking part in extra-curricular activities can really support your time at college and make a valuable addition to your CV.
You can get involved in a range of exciting activities such as Collaborative Competitions against other Cumbrian Colleges, a wide range of activities with our Healthy College Week, Employability opportunities with #SuccessFC, Volunteering opportunities and charity projects and lots, lots more.
The college has a Student Council onto which you can be elected as a Student/Apprentice Representative. This role gives you responsibility and the opportunity to be an important part of the Learner Voice. In your Rep role, you will help plan events, activities and community projects. As a member of the Student Council you can actively change the way things happen in college by attending the monthly meetings and engaging with the college senior management team and other college staff to help make a difference. You will be the voice and ears of your peers and help with the communication of important information across the college.
To get involved in any of these activities or to suggest more then please contact the Learning Enrichment Co-ordinator, Karen Turner:

As a student at Furness College we value your views on your course and the whole college experience. At certain times during the year the Quality Unit will organise focus groups with students from a range of courses and curriculum areas. Please take the opportunity to be involved in one of these focus groups.
At various times during the year you will also be asked to complete an online questionnaire which will ask about your experiences at Furness College and your course. Please complete the questionnaires as honestly as you can; all the surveys are anonymous so you will never be personally identified as making a comment.
All the comments made in surveys and focus groups are recorded and taken into consideration to ensure the College is providing a good service to students and help us to look at ways to further improve.
