Course Content

How long is the course?

The course is part time, day release and evening classes over two years. The course is 10.5 hours per week for 34 weeks per year.

How will I learn?

The units are delivered by a combination of lectures, practical lab sessions.

What subjects will I study?

Over the 2 years you will cover 120 credits made up of modules which include: • Maths for engineering technicians • Mechanical Principals • Electrical Principals • Engineering drawing • Engineering project • Health and Safety • Communications for Engineering technicians • Devices and circuits • Measurement and testing

How will I be assessed?

The course is assessed by a combination of formal assessments and assignments. A portfolio of evidence is assembled for each unit.

Are there any additional costs?

General stationery will be needed as well as a scientific calculator.

Entry Requirements

What are the entry requirements?

• Four GCSEs at grade C or above to include mathematics and science • GNVQ Intermediate • C&G Level 2 or equivalent • Relevant Industrial experience
