Course Content

How long is the course?

9-12 months

How will I learn?

This is a work based qualifcation so learning will be on the job. The candidate will learn the practices of assessing and the cycle of assessment. They will learn how to plan and carry out assessments and give feedback to learners.

What subjects will I study?

Principles and practices and policies of assessment.

How will I be assessed?

The candidate will be assessed through observation of their practice as an assessor. They will also submit evidence of an audit trail of assessment with their learners. They will complete a workbook for the underpinning knowledge for the assessor award. They will complete a professional discussion detailing the practices and policies of assessment.

Are there any additional costs?

DBS check prior to the start of the course.

Entry Requirements

What are the entry requirements?

The candidate needs to be in a position where they are assessing a minimum of 2 learners to a national standard/NVQ qualification.
