Course Content

How long is the course?

This could vary according to the students needs and will be discussed at interview.

How will I learn?

You will work in a small group. Each student has an Individual Learning Plan and individual targets.

What subjects will I study?

• English grammar and syntax • Listening, writing, reading and speaking skills • Basic phonics and applied linguistics in the higher courses

How will I be assessed?

The Skills for Life exams will take place here in College throughout the year. For the Cambridge exams (FCE, CAE & CPE) the examination is by interview and written exam, which take place twice a year at a recognized Cambridge ESOL centre.

Are there any additional costs?

Tuition fees may apply according to status but these will be discussed at interview and confirmed in writing before commencement of the course. Certificates for all components of the course are issued at the end of the academic year. Additional charges will be incurred should they be required sooner.

Entry Requirements

What are the entry requirements?

There are no entry requirements for the beginner’s class. There is an entry requirement for the Cambridge exams of at least two years previous English study.
