This qualification will support learners to develop the knowledge and skills required to work in a range of clinical healthcare support settings and in adult care environments.
The qualification is formed of mandatory and optional units. The mandatory units cover core competencies while the optional units allow choice from a variety of areas to tailor the qualification to your needs, interests and work role.
It covers a wide range of areas including dementia awareness, mental health and well-being, supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and healthcare procedures.

What Modules will you Study?
To achieve this qualification learners must achieve a minimum of 46 credits: 24 credits from mandatory units and a further 22 credits from optional units.

How is it assessed?
All units are internally assessed by your Tutor or Assessor using a portfolio of evidence.
How long will it take to complete this qualification?
Learners can usually complete the qualification within 12 months.
Do you need to be working to take this qualification?
Learners will need to be working, volunteering or on practical placement to be able to show competence in both knowledge and skills
How long is the course?
The Diploma is work-based and is designed to reflect the skills and knowledge of people who work in caring activities. The qualification is taken over 9 months depending on individual need.

What are the entry requirements?
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. The Level 2 Diploma is suitable for learners is a variety of different settings within the NHS and private care facilities.

Progression to higher level diplomas, qualifications in specialist health pathways or to related health Apprenticeships.
