Awarding Body

Cambridge Technicals OCR

How long is the course?

Full-time over one year.

How will I learn?

Learners are expected to take control of their own learning, and it is our job to guide you towards the independent approach to learning, rather than just give you all the knowledge you need. You may find you have more freedom to decide what to do, but also that you need to make decisions for yourself. It is very important that you meet deadlines set and put in the hours expected on the course. One of the objectives of this course is to prepare you for a job, and this student-centred approach is an important part of this process.

How will I be assessed?

The assessment is designed to reward students for what they can do as well as what they know. You will be internally assessed through assignments set and marked by your lecturers. These assignments may be set assignments, projects or case study work and evidence may be in the form of written reports, graphs, posters, projects & project plans, performance-observation records, practical assessments and presentations. Units are internally assessed and graded, externally moderated and an overall grade for the qualification is awarded.

Are there any additional costs?

There are no specific extra costs, just stationery for study.
