Introduction to Distance Learning - End of Life Care
What are the entry requirements?
The course is suitable for anyone who already works in a health care setting and wants to develop their understanding of how to work in end of life care. There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this course. However, you may find it helpful if you have already achieved a Level 1 or 2 qualification in a health or social care related area.
What subjects will I study?
This introductory session will focus on understanding different attitudes to death and dying, the varying approaches (and their individual aims), to end of life care, and the support services available to people undertaking such a role.
How will I learn?
The course will be delivered in a classroom environment. You will be expected to participate in the session and produce work that contributes to the requirements of Level 2 Understand how to work in end of life care unit.
How will I be assessed?
The aim is to introduce the subject and gain a basic knowledge and understanding of end of life care to support your role. On successful completion of the course, you will be eligible to enrol on Level 2 in End of Life Care. This is provided through a supported distance learning approach, either in College or your workplace.
How long is the course?
This course will run for a half day.
