NCFE CACHE Level 4 Certificate for the Early Years Advanced Practitioner


The Level 4 qualification aims to provide professional development opportunities for practitioners working in the early years workforce at Level 3. This qualification will embrace the wealth of experience of the Level 3 early years workforce and challenge you in both your daily practice and theoretical understanding.

You will acquire and use skills, of leadership, mentoring, coaching and reflection as you complete the qualification through work-based opportunties.

What are the entry requirements?

You must be 18+ and hold a full Level 3 early years/childcare qualification. Additionally, you must be employed in an early years setting at Level 3.

What subjects will I study?

You will need to complete 5 mandatory units to achieve this qualification. The mandatory units are:

? enabling children to learn
? promoting health and well-being through physical activity and nutrition co-ordination (PANCo) in the early years
? working with others to support children with additional needs, including Special Educational Needs and Disability
? working with families and other professionals in early years settings
? implementing change in an early years setting incorporating a small scale research project.

How will I learn?

A combination of classroom based teaching and on-line learning.

How will I be assessed?

Through a portfolio of evidence.

What opportunities will this lead to?

This qualification will prepare you for further study of early years in higher education, including the Foundation Degree Children Young People and their services.

How long is the course?

Commencing September 2017 with attendance at Channelside Campus on a Thursday evening 5 ? 7pm (fortnightly) for one year.

Are there any additional costs?

Usually just for stationery.
