Tesco and Furness College collaborate on art project
A ‘working in the community scheme’ with Tescos, Barrow to brighten up their baby changing facility saw Furness College Art & Design students once more experiencing a real live brief.
The project was used as part of the students’ course work under the unit BTEC Specialist Illustration. Once the students had made their designs the best were chosen from the Customer Services team lead by their manager, Kelly Swainson and were then made into life size laminated posters which were made and erected by local signage firm Graphix Signs.
Art student, Connor Richardson, 17, from Dalton said, “I’m really proud to have my work displayed publicly. My inspiration came from the film ‘Happy Feet’ and I used biro, crayon and photoshop to help create the characters and poster. The course is brilliant and it’s been a great to have so much experience working with live briefs from companies. “
