NUS Vice President for Further Education visits Furness College
The National Union of Students’ Vice President (Further Education) Emily Chapman visited Furness College’s campuses at Channelside and Rating Lane this week.
During her visit on Wednesday 27th September 2017, Emily toured facilities at Channelside’s £47m campus and the new Students’ Union space at Barrow Sixth Form College.
As well as meeting students and staff at both campuses, Emily offered advice and support to Furness College Students’ Union representatives Callum Slater and Jacob McSweeney ahead of officer elections for the College’s first merged Students’ Union.
Emily said: “This is my first trip to Barrow and it’s been a real eye-opener. Furness College is amazing and both the Channelside and Rating Lane campuses have a great atmosphere.
“Furness College Students’ Union is already well on the way to being incredible. I wish the Students’ Union every success and I’ll be here to support them every step of the way.
“I’d love to come back to Furness College in future to see the progress they’ve made.”
Nominations for Furness College Students’ Union are now open to all students in their second year or above.
An election will take place in October to establish eight new Students’ Union Officers, who will work to represent students across both campuses.
in that short time they are doing so well an unbelievable development, I can see them getting Quality SU’s accreditation in the near future!
