Students cement good ties with the community

Furness College construction students took their skills out into the local community to help support a local sports club. The learners took up the challenge of creating a new concrete boundary wall for Lindal Cricket Club. The team of eight students, led by Brickwork tutor, Darran(Correct) Curtis, completed the project over two days last week. They also built a store shed for the village club. Mr Curtis said: “The students were very enthusiastic about the project. It was the first time some of the students have been out in the work place.
