Engineering Degree students attain impressive results
Twenty-nine students studying for the B.Eng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering and B.Eng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering degrees at Furness College passed with flying colours – 14 with First Class Honours. The courses are validated by Lancaster University.
The external examiner congratulated the lecturing team for further developing and delivering the course to the exacting standards of Lancaster University and the students for producing work of such a high calibre.
Over one hundred students have studied part-time on engineering higher level courses this year and are in various stages of progressing through the qualification. All students combine their studies with full-time work commitments and successfully combine research projects with their employer’s full support.
The Engineering degrees provide those working in the engineering industry with a qualification that can enable progression from technician to a chartered engineer status and the first step towards membership of engineering institutions. The Engineering degrees are accredited with the IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology) and have also been through an accreditation with the IMechEng (Institution of Mechanical Engineers) with the final approval due in September.
