Summary

The BA (Hons) Educational and Professional Studies programme recruits directly on to Level 5 & 6 (equivalent to years 2 & 3 of a full-time course). It is designed to allow progression opportunities to students with prior qualifications such as the Certificate in Education (post-compulsory) or a relevant Foundation Degree. There is the opportunity to gain credits towards your degree with experience in an educational setting. Please note that some modules will require employment or a placement in a relevant educational setting.

What are the entry requirements?

Foundation Degree in Early Years or another relevant subject Certificate in Education.

It is a requirement that a DBS check has been undertaken before entry to the programme.

How will I learn?

As experienced educators we are very conscious that our teaching and learning strategies emphasise the role of the learner. There will be lectures, seminars, tutorials and group work to enable active participation in the learning process.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment involves a variety of coursework, including essays, individual and group presentations, critical review of set articles, reflective learning logs, portfolios and the design of a small scale research proposal.

What opportunities will this lead to?

Further study at Postgraduate level, such as one of the MA programmes (both taught and research based). These are designed to meet the interests and needs of students and are developed accordingly.

Progression to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

How long is the course?

Part time over two years or Full time over one year.

When is the next start date?

The next course will start from week beginning 11th September 2017.

Fees

Full-time fees are £5950 in 2017/18.
Part-time £2976 per year in 2017/18 (£992 per 20 credit module).

The total cost for the full course will be £5952. Please note, fees are set and are payable on a yearly basis and are subject to a small increase in line with inflation.
