Living & Working Abroad Programme

Summary

Develop practical and academic skills on our “Living and Working Abroad” Programme. Learn about the culture and history of one of the most Easterly European members. Get the skills to get ahead.

RV Projects was set up to give teams of young people from the UK volunteering opportunities in Eastern Europe. The project is chosen to meet the ability of the team, it is designed to be both fun and challenging and it will provide lasting benefits to you and the host charity.

We are currently offering three Teams, Millom, Barrow and Kendal who are working towards undertaking an exciting project redecorating a charity run orphanage in Bulgaria.

What are the entry requirements?

If you are 16, 17 or 18 years old and not currently enrolled with a college you can join our Team. You don’t even need a passport!

What subjects will I study?

City and Guilds Level 1 Diploma in Employability Skills and Maths and English
By undertaking this qualification you will:
• have the chance to learn new skills
• further your own personal, practical and professional development
• enhance your education with a nationally recognised qualification in Employability Skills
• have something to make you stand out on your CV
• be part of a team working together to make a difference to your own life and those of others.

How will I learn?

We have a bespoke and well-resourced Training Suite in Victoria Hall on Rawlinson Street which provides a relaxed but professional environment for direct learning and project based activities. Millom and Kendal have their own well resourced training suites as well.

How will I be assessed?

Throughout the programme you will build a portfolio cataloguing your experiences. Assessment is ongoing with no exams.

What opportunities will this lead to?

A full-time college course, employment or an apprenticeship.

How long is the course?

The course starts on Monday 3rd October 2016 and runs for 13 weeks.

Are there any additional costs?

This is a free course with financial support for passport applications. The trip is also free, however the Team raise their own funds to cover the cost of the project.
