Introduction to Distance Learning - Common Health Conditions
What are the entry requirements?
The course is suitable for anyone who already works in a health care setting and wants to develop their awareness of a number of common health conditions. There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this course. However, you may find it helpful if you have already achieved a Level 1 or 2 qualification in a health or social care related area.
What subjects will I study?
This introductory session will focus on strengthening awareness of the many signs, symptoms and treatments available for a variety of common health conditions such as cardiovascular disease, arthritis and physical disability.
How will I learn?
The course will be delivered in a classroom environment. You will be expected to participate in the session and produce work that contributes to the requirements of Level 2 Understand how to contribute to monitoring the health of individuals affected by health conditions unit.
How will I be assessed?
The aim is to introduce the subject and gain a basic understanding of the fundamentals of how to contribute to monitoring the health of individuals affected by health conditions. On successful completion of the course, you will be eligible to enrol on Level 2 in Common Health Conditions. This is provided through a supported distance learning approach, either in College or your workplace.
How long is the course?
This course will run for a half day.
