For candidates who are assessing in their candidates work environment.

What are the entry requirements?

The candidate needs to be in a position where they are assessing a minimum of 2 learners to a national standard/NVQ qualification.

What subjects will I study?

Principles and practices and policies of assessment.

How will I learn?

This is a work based qualifcation so learning will be on the job.

The candidate will learn the practices of assessing and the cycle of assessment.

They will learn how to plan and carry out assessments and give feedback to learners.

How will I be assessed?

The candidate will be assessed through observation of their practice as an assessor.

They will also submit evidence of an audit trail of assessment with their learners.

They will complete a workbook for the underpinning knowledge for the assessor award.

They will complete a professional discussion detailing the practices and policies of assessment.

What opportunities will this lead to?

To work as an assessor.

To progress to the level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice.

How long is the course?

9-12 months
