Summary

Our BTEC Level 1 qualification in Social Media develops the skills and knowledge that learners need to start a career in Social Media / IT.

This course aims to develop awareness of a wide range of social media platforms, both general use and specialist types. Learners will develop their understanding of how to use social media effectively for personal and business purposes and the benefits and risks associated with that use.

This will then allow learners to set up, use and maintain appropriate social media tools and develop the skills required to customise tools, create and optimise content and make the best use of tools and techniques to grow their personal online presence.

What are the entry requirements?

No prior knowledge, understanding, skills or qualifications are required however basic understanding of Microsoft products (i.e. Word, PowerPoint) is an advantage.

• Principles of Social Media
• Social Media for Personal Use

How will I learn?

The course will be delivered in a classroom environment.

How will I be assessed?

A short assessment project to be complete over the duration of the course.

What opportunities will this lead to?

• Progression to a Level 2 equivalent qualification
• Apprenticeship in IT / Social Media
• Employment in the IT / Social Media sector

Progression is awarded subject to successful completion of study program, aptitude and interview.

How long is the course?

6 Weeks. 1 day per week. 3 hours per day.

Are there any additional costs?

There are no specific extra costs, just stationery for study.
