Summary

The VTCT Level 2 Award in Preventing Contact Dermatitis is a course that has been specifically designed to develop your knowledge and understanding of the characteristics and causes of the ever increasing skin condition of contact dermatitis, and how it can be prevented if you work in the hair and beauty industries.

The purpose of this qualification is to raise your awareness of the skin condition for yourself and colleagues whether you are in education or employment.

What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal entry requirements, however knowledge of working in the hair or beauty industry would be an advantage. A good basic education is required. A caring approach and good communication skills are an asset. An interest in the subject is essential.

What subjects will I study?

You will study the following unit:

- Contact Dermatitis Prevention

The knowledge that you will gain through completing this unit will help you to understand and explain the causes, signs and symptoms of contact dermatitis, and the methods of prevention. You will be able to define what wet working is and explain the difference between employee and employer health and safety responsibilities.

How will I learn?

You will be studying on line and upon enrollment you will be given access to the on line learning package.

How will I be assessed?

To achieve this qualification you will need to complete the on line package fully and pass the on line examination.

How long is the course?

Up to 9 hours to be completed online.

Are there any additional costs?

The cost of this course is £70 which includes access to the on line package and certification. Funding is available through the EDGE funding if working in a qualifying industry.
