Summary

This full time course provides a variety of subjects and experiences that will help to develop the student’s skills and confidence, thus guiding them towards the next stage
of their education or employment. The course has been designed for those who prefer a small class size and a supportive environment. Tutors make the learning relevant and fun, building on existing skills whilst using technology and practical tasks to cater for all learning styles.

What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, only a willingness to learn and prior achievements/assessments which show an ability to work towards an Entry Level 3 qualification.

What subjects will I study?

Time will be spent in practical and theory classes on a variety of activities that will enhance employability and independent living skills. Students will have the opportunity to study Catering, ICT, Retail, Painting and Decorating, Carpentry and Joinery, Brickwork, and Personal and Social Development. There may also be the opportunity to access work experience. Each student will have an individual assessment to ensure that they are placed on to the appropriate level in maths and English.

What opportunities will this lead to?

A clear progression route will be identified for each learner in line with his or her own aspirations and abilities. Students may progress on to a full-time course, further training, an apprenticeship, a supported internship or employment.

How long is the course?

Full-time over one year.
