Level 2 Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance

What are the entry requirements?

A Level 2 Diploma in Fast Fitting or other equivalent qualification. You will be required to attend a pre-entry assessment and interview.

What subjects will I study?

Units studied may include: health and safety and good housekeeping in the automotive environment, skills in supporting job roles in the automotive work environment, skills in materials, fabrication and tools and measuring devices used in the automotive environment, routine light vehicle maintenance, removing and replacing light vehicle engine components, removing and replacing light vehicle chassis components, removing and replacing driveline units and components, removing and replacing light vehicle electrical components.

Every full-time course will include a real experience of work.

Maths and English form part of this course and will be assessed at the relevant levels.

How will I learn?

Through a combination of workshop demonstrations, hands on and taught sessions.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed through practical competence, portfolio of work, knowledge tests and assignments.

What opportunities will this lead to?

An Advanced Apprenticeship or employment in a garage setting. Progression is based on aptitude and a successful interview.

How long is the course?

Full-time over one year.

Are there any additional costs?

You will need boots, overalls, and stationery equipment.
