Skills for Life
It may be beneficial for some students with learning support needs to access further literacy and numeracy support prior to or after starting a full-time or part-time college course and we provide Skills for Life classes every day and at a variety of times from Monday to Friday and with start dates throughout the year.
Many students will benefit from the opportunity to gain a qualification in English or maths at level 1 or level 2 to fill a gap in their CV.
Some students who wish to return to a level 2 or 3 course at Furness College in the future, may also require a literacy, numeracy and ICT course to help their transition back into education and we run ‘Go for It’ classes which help students improve the skills they need to enter full time education and make the transition back into learning.
Students wishing to work towards a nationally recognised award in English or maths can find out more about free classes by contacting the Skills for Life team on 01229 844818 or click on the Skills for Life link on this website.
